Baltimore Alternative Collection
The Baltimore Alternative free newspaper was founded by Bill Urban in 1986, and was committed to coverage of the AIDS epidemic, the Baltimore LGBTQAI+ community, and civil and privacy rights. This collection contains a incomplete run of issues from May 1986 to July 1993. Newspapers feature articles, photographs, personal ads, local events, advertisements, political coverage, health information, entertainment, and more.
This collection also features select issues of the Lambda Rising newsletter, produced by the Lambda Rising LGBTQIA+ book store in Washington D.C.
