Throughout Towson's history, student organizations have been an important part of students' university experience. These groups are organized and run by students, and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests and shared experiences. The TU Archives collects materials from student organizations in order to create a firsthand record of the lives and daily activities of our students throughout history.

Black Student Union

Browse materials from the Black Student Union from 1970 to the present. Materials include photographs, newspaper articles, student guides, art publications, and event fliers. These materials document the work of the union to provide institutional services and support for the black community at Towson University, a mission that continues today.

Phi Alpha Theta

Established in 1961, Towson's chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society holds events for students with an interest in history and produces the annual Journal of Historical Studies.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association has represented the student body of Towson University for over one hundred years. Established in 1921, the SGA has a long history of planning social and cultural events, promoting leadership, and advocating for student participation in all aspects of life at the university. The University Archives collects materials from the SGA that document its activities, projects, and history continuing today.
