Morgan will be filled by David College Leaders Convene Something new has been added to State Teachers College. For the first time in the history of the school, a Leadership Work-shop Conference will be held dur-ing Freshman Week. This con-ference has been devised to aid student leaders in the more thor-ough execution of their obliga-tions and duties, both insofar as their particular organizations are concerned and in conjunction with the Student Government Associa-tion. The workshop arose from a suggestion by Dr. Earle T. Haw-kins, college prexy, in a meeting with Faye Davis and Jack La-pides, president and vice-presi-dent respectively of the S. G. A. In the absence of Miss Davis, Mr. Lapides headed the planning corn-mittee during its meetings over the summer. The former, how-ever, will preside over the confer-ence through its fall meetings. It has been felt that a dire lack of coordination has existed in the functioning of the various organ-izations of the S. G. A. for some time, and thus there has long been a need for such a conference as this. Should the plan prove a worth-while one, it will no doubt be per-manently incorporated into the Student Government. In an inter-view, Mr. Lapides said, ""I have never seen such enthusiasm as that which has been displayed through our planning; this is the greatest thing that has hit Towson in a long time."" junior high school program Miss Mary E. Substituting for Mr. Cox will be Robert W. Gifford, from the Iowa State Teachers College staff; and Robert F. Hun-ter, who has been teaching at Elon College in North Carolina, will assist in the history depart-ment. Assuming the position of assist-ant resident director will be Miss Mary Pottorf, former assistant dean at Lake Erie College in Ohio; she is replacing Miss S. Rebecca Lee.
