Week Juniors, Seniors To Meet School Heads Monday The Fifth Annual Superintendent's Day will be held at Towson State Teachers' College, on Monday, November 13. The school superintendents and embers of their staffs will meet Towson students who were formally members of their schools. They will also meet the faculty embers who will serve as a con-sulting committee to President irawkins and other members of the college program. The morning will be spent in con-sulting committee discussions. The topics will be: the revised curriculum, led by Dean Kenneth trowne; the graduate program; the Program in arts and sciences, con-ducted by Dr. Wilfred Hathaway; freshmen participation in public schools, with Mrs. Zenith VeliE; and Problems of enrollment of new stu-dents, with Dr. Rebecca Tans:1. At Annapolis High, she played Emily in Our Town, only one of many roles. She has done workshop work with The Colonial Players of An-napolis, and at STC, is remembered from such plays as The Madwoman of Chaillot, The Heiress, and Blanche in scenes from Streetcar Named Desire. Trojan Women 2nd Performance Goes On Tonight ""The Trojan Women,"" the Glen Players current production, will complete its three-night stand with a performance tonight (Friday) and tomorrow evening. Curtain time is 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $1, but students with activity cards are admitted free. Starring Sharie Lacey as Hecuba, the play also features Lois Porter-field, Irene Shepherd, Mary Jane Egerton, and Allan Starkey in sup-porting roles. A chorus made up of 12 college women chants many of the chorus passages, which have been set to music by Mr. Martin C. Rice of the music department. Miss Carolyn Graeser of the physical education department is the choreographer for the show. The lighting, set, and costumes were designed by Robert M. Keane, an art major. He is also the tech-nical director of the show. Keane is assisted by Mary E. Hughes, assistant technical director, and the various committee heads. Joy Brown as wardrobe mistress supervised the making of the tumes. Judith Matthews and Sherry Ed-wards constructed armor and hel-mets from synethetic fabrics, and (Continucd on Page 4) COS-College To Host MAFIA Meet Final plans are underway for the 12th annual fall convention to the Maryland Association of Future Teachers of America, which will be held here Saturday, November 18. The meeting will include mem-bers from all secondary school FTA groups and Student Education Associations groups from the ; teachers colleges in Maryland. Some of the students from the western counties will be housed on campus Friday even-ing, November 17. There will be a jam session that night for all visitors and Towson students. William S. Schmidt, superinten-dent of schools for Prince George's County, will deliver the keynote speech of the all-day convention. After lunch and a tour of the college campus, the delegates to the 'convention will split into two groups, college and high school. The college group will hear an address on ""New Materials of Instruction"" given by Dr. William H. In the quest for first-and information, Mr. Cooke (Continued on Page 4) 3 Weeks Remain For Loan Filing Just three weeks are left until the deadline for students to file for Nations Defense Student Loans to be used during second semester, Miss Nina Hughes, chairman of the committee on loans, reminded this week. The deadline is December 1. Application blanks are in the business office. They must be sub-mitted to Miss Hughes before the deadline. For those students who find they need supplemental funds because they did not earn as much as anti-cipated during the Christmas holi-days, the deadline can be extended to Friday, January 5, Miss Hughes said. She emphasized, however, that students who fit into this category must submit dodumaIntary proof that their applications were filed after December 1 for this reason, and none others.
