The eut was made Monday night. This cut forces the student newspaper to cancel an !iltire issue and also to publish only one six-page issue dur- Ing second semester. Although we realize that it is impossible to grant every .rganization the total amount of funds it requests, we ques-tIon the wisdom behind our budget slash. Perhaps if Tower Light were to sign a contract for the ?it-ire year, as does Tower Echoes, our argument would have to be considered more valid. At least it seems that ay when one notes the total amount of money allotted to the yearbook, almost $10,000. After establishing a record of publishing a newspaper cl-eh week of the semester, with the exception of holidays examination periods, one would expect the Student 'ovenlment Association to help rather than hinder this Last semester when we were forced to cancel an issue heca use of a budget cut, members of the student body were 141ek to notice this and immediately came to our office for t1 explanation of the absence of the weekly Tower Light. Since the product of this organization reaches such a e portion of the college community, and because it pro-es a greater service to the campus than do most organiza-fiks, we feel that the Senate should vote Tower Light the tirlds which it originally requested. The degree of our service depends upon your vote l'Ilesday in the Senate. IlSecond Semester . . A single person may contribute any number of entries, and more than one per-son may work on and contribute the same entry. Deadline for submission of ideas is Tuesday, February 27. The Executive Committee urges interested persons to watch the freshman class bulletin board opposite the mail boxes for further details as to where to leave their entries. AB entries become the property of the freshman class. Designs for the seal should be neatly drawn and should be large enough to be distinguished. The motto need not be in Latin., Entries will first be judged by the Executive Committee on the basis of originality, general appeal, art content, and suitability to purpose. They will choose what they con-sider to be the best five or six entries, and these will be voted upon by the entire freshman class at a class meeting. The new health center is located behind Glen Esk because of its central position to all buildings on !campus.
