For comedian Jim Breuer, who will perform at the Towson Center tomorrow at 8p.m., how-ever, that scary picture will be proudly displayed for an audi- .torium of thousands of students to giggle at and mock. ""When I come out there's going to be a picture of me when I was 17 years old going to see Ronnie James Dio in concert,"" Breuer said. ""I had spandex on, fur boots and a tank top Judas Priest shirt on. I was a pure 80s knucklehead."" So maybe Breuer never took a liking to fashion early on, but he definitely paid attention to music. ""I grew up a huge 80s metal fan,"" Breuer said. ""I was into Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, AC/DC and Metallica. To me that was the greatest; going to see those concerts."" Twenty years later, Breuer's love for 80s metal bands is still so deep that he incorporates it into his routine for his ""Heavy Metal Comedy Tour."" ""I'm basically taking my stand-up comedies and mixing them with 80s metal shows,"" Breuer said. ""So you still get your stand-up, but there's cool mood music going on."" Breuer's band, the -Breu Crue, not only provides mood music for the background of his rou-tines, it also gets the crowd hyped with outrageous Clubs, fraternities highlight FunF est Kirk Jacobson The Towerhght A member of Phi Kappa Sigma gets dunked during yesterday's Student Invohement Fair held on Burdick Field. The day's events featured student group tables, food, games and entertainment. requests. ""The band knows any freak-ing song you call out,"" Breuer said. ""They're amazing. You can call out anything from Mariah Carey to a metal song and they're right on it."" Unlike many comedians who are afraid of being pigeonholed into any one character they play, Breuer said he hasn't stopped doing the impressions that made him famous during his days on ""Saturday Night Live."" ""If I go see a band, I know their one classic song is old,"" Breuer said. ""But, hell, I came to see it. So I'm not going to go on tour and not do 'Alcohol-in-the- Stomach' or Goatboy, because people want to see that."" In addition to his impressions of Joe Pesci, AC/DC and Metallica members, Breuer has also developed a few new char-acters to add to his comedic repertoire. ""There's probably going to be two or three new characters you're going to see,"" Breuer said. ""There's the 'Shut-Up Guy' and the 'Small-Minded Man,' whickis really based on a racist character."" Always a crowd-pleaser, Breuer said one of his favorite parts of ""The Heavy Metal Comedy Tour"" is partially derived from a dance performed at skating rinks. ""There's a part where I do AC/DC, but doing the hokey-pokey,"" Breuer said.
