Events will continue to be carried out through Saturday's Homecoming football game. """"Once upon a time"""" at Towson University, student organizations held spirit-charged events to gear up the campus for the Homecoming football game. They planned long and hard, toiling over posters and performances, movies and music, prizes and penny wars, all to bolster generous Homecoming enthusiasm. The tradition was evident on Monday evening, when students decorated sandwich boards on the lower level of the Union Garage. The boards depict the """"Once Upon a Time"""" theme and are on display near the Lecture Hall and Psychology Building. Chalk the Walk was also planned for Monday evening on the sidewalk around the Beach, but because of rain, the event was canceled. Students sing in the name of school spirit Tuesday night was not a normal school night at Paws Lounge, The annual Spirit Day Ice Cream Social and Say What Karaoke turned out almost 200 students. The biggest hit of the night proved to be the karaoke. """"You can see students make a fool out of themselves but it is all in good fun,"""" freshman Myesha Jordan said. While it was all in good fun, the participants put a lot of effort and entertaining moves into their two minutes of fame. With songs like """"Barbie Girl,"""" """"Sweet Home Alabama"""" and """"Baby Got Back,"""" the Paws stage attracted a lot of interest. Individual winners for Say What Karaoke were Kristen Watts and Shawn Fournier. Organization winners included Phi Sigma Sigma in first place, Delta Sigma Theta in second place, and the Student Government Association in third place. Additionally, the movie """"Ever After"""" played on the big screen to put students in the """"Once Upon a Time"""" mood while they formed a line throughout Paws for free ice cream and toppings. Organizers served more than 16 tubs of ice cream.
