TU may start third term Trimester could begin this summer Sharon Leff Editor in Chief Towson University may imple-ment a trimester for Summer 2008, if they receive funding from the state. Introducing a trimester would allow the use of buildings all year round and would allow students to take classes that are in high demand during the fall and spring semesters, Towson President Robert Caret told the University Senate Monday. Caret said he would like to launch the trimester on a very small scale and look at which classes and elec-tives are in high demand. Anything that can relieve pres-sure on the fall and spring [semes-ters] can help us, he said in an interview last week. Acting provost James Clements said the University will have a task force evaluate all the advantages and disadvantages to starting a tri-mester. In order for this to work, we have to be supportive of it and we have to get money to do it. What were asking the state is, treat this like a spring or fall semester and subsidize it, Clements said. The weather is absolutely perfect. Potential New Members visit and learn about each sorority through-out the week, culminating in Bid Day.
