Sporting the crucial letter 'R' across his chest as part of a group of friends spelling out ""TIGERS,"" the freshman enjoyed soaking up the party-like atmosphere in Lot 13 before and during Saturday afternoon's Homecoming football game. ""The atmosphere here rules,"" said Clarke, who kept a red plastic cup close to him at all times. ""Everyone's really messed up. I'm psyched we're going to beat Howard."" Clarke's predictions came true when the Tigers beat the Howard Bison, 38-6, in front of 4,512 during the annual Homecoming game at Minnegan Stadium the largest Homecoming crowd since 1996 and senior defen-sive end Nick Bailey said it was good to see so many Towson fans in the stands. ""You can definitely feed off the crowd support,"" Bailey said. ""When there's a crucial moment in the game, like third-and-2 or fourth-and-2, one of us will wave our hands and the crowd will get into it more and it makes you feel really good. It's tough to describe it in a couple of words, but it's a good feel-ing."" SGA President Dan Wait said along with the football game his favorite event of the week was the ""Yell Like Hell"" pep rally, which took place Friday on the Towsontown Field. ""Being a Greek, I had an amazing time at Yell Like Hell,"" said Wait, whose fraternity, Sigma Chi, placed third at the event. ""The Dave Chappelle show was also an absolute suc-cess."" The actor/comedian enter-tained a sellout crowd of approximately 3,300 at the Towson Center Wednesday night. Wait said he was sur-prised when the SGA sold 3,150 tickets to students, which was more than expected. Homecoming Chair Regina Quinn said student feedback was so positive for a comedy act that the SGA is now considering bringing another famous come-dian to next year's Homecoming festivities. Quinn also said a majority of alumni, faculty and students, such as senior graphic design major Erica Bennett, enjoyed tailgating much more than last year. ""I thought that Towson in general showed a lot more spirit than last year,"" Bennett said. ""It was nicer out, so the attendance was up.""
