Bernie Gerst, direc-tor of public safety, said. Were not experts at crowd estimates, but we definitely think we had far more than last year, when 6,000 to 7,000 attended. Campus Activites Board Tigerfest Chair Kira Taylor estimated about 10,000 came and went throughout the day. Towson students, community members, stu-dents from other campuses, and fans of the bands flocked to Burdick after the event kicked off at noon. Doug Binkley, a self-proclaimed super junior at Towson, wore a duct tape-covered cardboard box to promote his band Living For Today. LFT competed but fell short in CABs Battle of the Bands. Since we didnt quite make it here to play, we decided to come and be heard anyway, Binkley said. The Emerging Artist Stage showcased the talents of lesser-known artists such as Battle of the Bands win-ner American Diary, along with Bosco & Peck, Taylor McKenna and Hey Mike!. The Emerging Artists Stage, which was open from noon to 4 p.m., was smaller than I had anticipated. It was hosted by Tyler from the Real World, Key West, Taylor said. [Tyler] was extremely impressed with the Dance Team and other performers from Towson. He mingled with the stu-dents and really enjoyed him-self. See TOUR, page 13 Heidi Greenleaf / The Towerlight More Tigerfest coverage on the inside... Who is American Diary, anyway?
