Andrew Fortier Contributing Writer Fortune tellers, butt sketches and live music filled all three floors of the University Union Friday night as stu-dents took part in TU After Hours. The third annual event, which ran from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., jump-started Feb Fest, a month-long series of activities to welcome students back for the spring semester. It was primarily sponsored by the Office of Student Activities. About 20 activities were spread throughout the Union, including wax hand dipping, where participants mold-ed likenesses of their hands in hot wax, and a booth where students could have a personalized design etched into glass. There were also free giveaways in the second floor lobby where students could pick up movie posters and other promotional materials. I was able to see a lot of my friends and get free stuff along with it, sopho-more Alice Gilliland said. In addition to activities, live enter-tainment was offered in several places. A DJ played music all night in the Potomac Lounge, while magician Brian Brushwood performed for a receptive crowd in Paws. His act was followed by comedian/juggler, Mad Chad, who wowed the crowd when he closed his act by juggling three running chainsaws. Students also flocked to a Dance Dance Revolution machine that had people dancing until the early morning, plus entire rooms dedicated to Guitar Hero and Madden tournaments. Another popular event was the Deal or No Deal room, where students par-ticipated in a low-budget rendition of the popular television game show.
