According to Bill Toohey, BCPD spokesman, there have been 20 arrests for violations including driving while intoxicated, narcotic use, assault, disorderly conduct, and trespassing. There have been 47 citations for underage drinking, noise violations and county code viola-tions, and there have been 115 traffic tick-ets and 53 warnings for traffic violations. The program is aimed at areas with a high density of college students, including Riderwood Hills, Burkleigh Square, Towson Manor Village and Donnybrook. The Donnybrook Apartment complex is located off Burke Avenue, and Riderwood Hills is located on Kenilworth Drive. Burkleigh Square and Towson Manor Village are east of York Road. The thing to remember is, for anyone who has gotten a citation, there are dozens who havent. We dont want to label the whole student community because of this handful, Toohey said. Since the additional officers began patrolling, the police captain has noticed a significant drop in Monday morning e-mails from community members, Toohey added.
