Kara Manos Contributing Writer Angst, sorrow and sadness filled the University Union Chesapeake Rooms Tuesday evening, as more than 200 students gathered for a vigil honoring the victims of Monday�s mass shootings at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. Rev. Bobby Waddail, the Baptist campus minister, greeted students, staff and faculty members. �In the words of Isaiah, we are all acquainted with grief today,� Waddail said. �Please seek the comfort and support of friends, family and faith.� The vigil was hastily arranged after a gunman killed 32 students at Virginia Tech Monday morning. Towson President Robert Caret said he was �very, very proud of the turnout.� Many students and faculty came to the event wearing Va. Tech T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. Others wore the school�s colors: burnt orange and Chicago maroon. �I lost touch with many friends who go to Virginia Tech,� Monica Kitlas, a sophomore mass commu-nication major, said. �When I heard about what happened, I immedi-ately thought of them and went on Facebook.� Student Government Association president Patrick Dieguez also spoke about the devastation caused by the shootings. �Why did this happen? What can we do? Election results were announced Wednesday in the University Union Chesapeake Rooms following two days of voting. Haley beat out iSGA can-didate and current SGA treasur-er Stephanie Cox by 37 votes. She said her first thought when she heard her name was �Oh my God, I actually won.� �I was surprised [when I won]. I heard Evan and I heard Bill and I thought we were going to sweep it. Unfortunately we didn�t,� she said. The Student Voice platform emphasized a more �open, responsible and assertive� SGA. �I want to change how the SGA culture is, and as presi-dent I think that�s something we can do,� Haley said. Shireen Qadir, the only member of The Student Voice to not be elected, said she had no hard feelings toward Guy. Qadir lost by 102 votes. �The majority of my ticket�s on there, and Kristen Guy and I have a lot of respect for each other,� she said.
