The two parties, Foundation and Team Tigertown, both include cur-rent members of the SGA and mem-bers of student groups. Foundation is running on the theme of �action, advocacy and awareness,� while Team Tigertown is promising to be �accessible, attentive and active.� Voting will take place April 22-23 from 8 a.m. � 5 p.m. Campaigning for seats on next year�s Student Government Association executive board and leg-islative body began Friday, April 11. Meeting the candidates The Foundation ticket includes current SGA treasurer Bill Logan running for president, Antonio Hernandez for vice president, John Eubank IV for treasurer, and Lauren Seserko for attorney general. Team Tigertown consists of current SGA vice president Kristen Guy for presi-dent, James Torrence for vice presi-dent, Jon Graf for treasurer, and Julie Lyst for attorney general. �We will work toward a greener Towson University by emphasizing recycling, the use of recycled paper products, public transportation and the use of electronic books,� Logan said in an e-mail. �We will work to increase off-campus dining oppor-tunities that meet the desires of students.� Other points of emphasis on Foundation�s platform include Greek advocacy by supporting Greek hous-ing and the addition of Greek mer-chandising stores. Additional breaks throughout the fall and spring semes-ters, including a day off before the beginning of exams, are also items on the ticket�s agenda. Team Tigertown seeks to get �back to the basics,� Guy said. �Team Tigertown is stressing the importance of establishing a team as the executive board in order to have the most successful year,� Guy said in an e-mail. Both parties agree that service to the students is most important, however Foundation plans to work on this internally, whereas Team Tigertown sees their efforts going directly to student groups. �One of the things I would like to change for next year is the orga-nization of SGA,� Logan said. �I do not like to see an agenda finalized moments before a meeting, because we want people to be knowledgeable of what we are doing.� The SGA treasurer also said he wanted to make legislation available online and on a bulletin board out-side of the office so that students could be more informed. He also said he wanted to record votes to help promote responsibility of SGA members. �Ultimately, I want to alleviate the perception of entitlement the members of the SGA give off to the students, because we are here to serve them, not act above them,� Logan said.
