- Description
- Photograph of temporary dormitories for women in the Administration Building (room 211), now known as Stephens Hall. Women were housed two to one cubicle. In 1920, the Maryland State Normal School created a recruiting film called "The Call of the Hour". It was so successful that enrollment skyrocketed, and these temporary dormitories were created in the Administration Building. These photographs were used to appeal to the state for funds to build more dormitories on campus, and the result was that Richmond Hall was built in 1923.
