- Description
- Undated photograph (before 1932) of student teachers observing school children at the Normal Elementary School. Towson University was originally a teacher's training school, and during this time maintained an elementary school on campus that was staffed by professional teachers. Student teachers could both observe techniques as well as get some practical teaching experience in this environment. In this photo, the elementary school class is in the Administration Building, now known as Stephens Hall. A separate school building opened in 1932, and was named the Lida Lee Tall School in 1942. Another school was built in 1960, and called the Lida Lee Tall Learning Resources Centers. It was demolished in 2007 to make way for the new College of Liberal Arts.
