- Description
- Photograph of students from the Lida Lee Tall School working in the garden, with Stephens Hall behind them, southwest side of auditorium. The Lida Lee Tall School was named after the seventh principal and the first president of the State Teachers College at Towson. Lida Lee Tall was named the sixth principal of the State Normal School at Towson in 1920. During her tenure, the school grew physically with the addition of Richmond Hall, a new building for the Campus School, and expansion of the dining hall. She also oversaw the addition of a four-year program which would become the bachelor of science degree. Her title was changed to President in 1935. Tall retired from the Normal School in 1938.
