RESOLUTION 2022-2023 #21 IN THE STUDENT SENATE OF TOWSON UNIVERSITY, December 6th , 2022, A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE APPOINTMENTS OF TAYLOR SUTTON, DELINA AFWERKI, DAVID ONWONGA, OLUWADAMILOLA ABDUL, SIRANTOU TRAORE TO THEIR RESPECTIVE DEPARTMENT WITHIN THE EXECUTIVE CABINET AND EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE 102nd MINISTRATION OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION. INTRODUCED ON: December 6th, 2022 INTRODUCED BY: Vice-President Edwards II (on behalf of President Colquitt) COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: SENATE ACTION: ENACT UPON APPROVAL. Jordan A. Colquitt, President — Student Government Association WHEREAS, in Article II, Section 4, Subsection D of the Student Government Association Constitution, it states that the SGA President shall: "Appoint and/or nominate all members of the Executive Cabinet and Council. WHEREAS, in Article II, Sections 10 and 12, of the Student Government Association Constitution, it states that these individuals must "be [approved/ confirmed] by two-thirds [2/ 3] majority of the Student Senate. WHEREAS, President Colquitt and Chief of Staff Moody have conducted an application and interview process to select individuals who are most qualified to not only fulfill all responsibilities of an SGA member, but also the most qualified in carrying out the mission of those particular departments. WHEREAS, President Colquitt has appointed the following individuals to the Executive Cabinet: • Director of Higher Education: Taylor Sutton • Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs: Delina Afwerki fl&b# Director of Marketing: David Onwonga • Director of Academic Affairs: Oluwadamilola Abdul • Director of Community Outreach: Sirantou Traore THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Student Senate approves the appointment of the above individuals to their respective departments within the Executive Cabinet and Executive Council of the 102nd Administration of the Towson University Student Government Association.
