SGA Executive Committee Minutes September 5, 1965 The summer meeting of the SGA Executive Committee was called to order by President Neal Brooks at 3:30 P.M. at Kathi Austin's home. Announcements: John Gwynn has resigned as Judicial Board member. An appointment is pending. Neal Brooks has received a Thank You Note from Mrs. Gordon for the roses sent on behalf of the exec. committee on her retirement as Dean Murphy's secretary. She will now be working in the Lida Lee Tall School. Paul Vanderbosch reported that there is now $17,721.36. in the treasury. Old Business: Activity Cards: Paul Peloquin reported o the progress of the cards. He discussed the problem caised by a misfitting og the film magazine. The problem was resolved by his initiative. The completed cards will be distributed in the orientation sections during Freshman Week. The transfer students will receive theirs in their mail boxes. Senate Meeting Place: An auditorium in the new science building has ben requisitioned for senate meetings Neal Brooks stated. The room number is 104. Leadership Conference: Only Jackie Ellis has yet to pick up her committee's instructions. All other committees are progressing without incident. $50.00 was allocated to enable two representatives from each Maryland College to attedn the conference. Neal Brooks advised Paul Peloquin, Publicity Chairnman, to have news releases ready before classes resumed. Bookkeeper-Secretary: Mrs. Finkel was interviewed along with two other applicants, and was hired. She will begin September 13, 1965. Neal Brooks asked that he write up a policy concerning the addition to the office. Postage Meter: Neal Brooks announced that he had written to Pitney-Bows, Inc. and is hopeful for a delivery the frist week of classes. Sweetheart Dance: Still no word on the dance band. Paul vanderbosch expects to spend $2,000 to $2,500 on the band. Freshman Steering Committee: Jackie Ellis may have letter ready to send to the Group Leaders concerning the election of the committee, Neal Brooks stated. It was announced that Jack Wilson will be in charge of the committee.
