September 24, 1985 SGA Senate meeting minutes

STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION Towson State University Towson, Maryland 21204 (301) 321-2711 MINUTES September 24, 1985 The meeting was called to order at 4:00. Senatory Kushner moved to excuse Senator Krivos-seconded. Senatory Krivos was excused. Senator Krivos arrived late for the meeting. Senatore Irene Griffin moved to excuse Senator Burman-seconded. Senator Burman was excused. Senator Malanga moved to accept the minutes from the previous session-seconded. The minutes were accepted. Communications President Walsh introduced Dr. Hoke Smith. Dr. Smith met with President Walsh and several others to discuss problems concerning tailgating and possible ways to alleviate these problems. Some modifications will be made-tailgating has been moved back to the upper lot and Servomation wil be providing food services. Pamphlets will also be handed out before tailgating. The American preview of the movie Stone will be shown on September 25 at 8 p.m. in the Susquehanna Rooms. Soda and pizza will be available. The Judicial Policy has been revided. The Leadership Conference is scheduled for October 4, 5 and 6 at Camp Alkor. Senators are urged to remind their organizations that Orlando Bolanos will be speaking on October 6. Recommendations for the two Senator positions will be made next week. Treasurer Kohn will be ordering SGA sweatsuits this week. There will be a free bus trip to the anti-apartheid candlelight vigil on October 9 at College Park. Office of Communications-This week's movie is Killing Fields. Twenty-five summaries have been turned in for the SGA newsletter. The deadline for these summaries has been extended for another week and a half. The Communications Office needs someone to put up banners. The advertising for Orlando Bolanos is finished. Vice President Heacock reemphasized the importance of attending the Leadership Conference at Camp Alkor. Senators are urged to pass the word about Orlando Bolanos on October 6. There were no constitutions introduced. Senate Bill Introduced: SB 1985-86 #1: To allocate $525.00 to the Towson State Rugby Club for the purposes of paying the coach's salary and stationery supplies. $500.00 would be allocated for the coach and $25.00 for stationery supplies.
