TOWSON Student Government Association STATE UNIVERSITY Towson, Maryland 21204-7097 September 18, 1990 STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION MEETING Office of the Senate (301) 830-2711 The meeting was called to order at 4PM. Senators Milio and Lent were late. The minutes of the last meeting were approved. COMMUNICATIONS: PRESIDENT CAMERON *Requested that Senator Ayers and Mae compose a shortened version of the weekly minutes so that the Senators could use this as a basis for weekly communication to organizations. *Tuesday, 9/25, 5PM, Rms 309-310, "Citizens Against Crime". Attendance encouraged. *A reassignment of organizational offices is in the process of being updated. Some offices are not being used by present occupants while other groups need office space. *Senators are aske~ to please ad.here to posted office hours. *Volunteer to coordinate Red Cross Drive: Senator Roehrich *In reference to bills regarding University Senate motions: they were introduced on 9/17 and will be on the agenda 10/1. Your attendance is encouraged: 11/1 at 4PM, Rms 314, 315, 316 of University Union. TREASURER HARRIS: Unused funds - $12,000; therefore, we have approximately $20,000 to spend. DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS: No report. DIRECTOR OF ORGANIZATIONAL ADVANCEMENT:DIERDRE MC ELROY *Has received constitutions from the following: Accounting, AMA, International Club, Campus Crusade for Christ. *Muslim Student Organization in the process of trying to affiliate: will be part of the Interfaith Day, and on 9/27, 8AM-3PM will have an information table in the University Union. *Awaiting constitution from the Hispanic Club. CHAIR: VICE-PRESIDENT KRAUS *Homecoming November 2, 3, 4. Volunteers needed to create an SGA float. *In reference to advertising and solicitation: Because some of it is illegal, Government Operations is to develop a plan for penalties/sanctions that do not adhere to policy. The committee is also to develop a plan for illegal selling in the dorms. *Lesley Stahl dinner 10/14: There are 3 more slots for Senators who wish to attend. This request must be in written form and given to Vice-President Kraus. *Mandatory meetings: this Wednesday and Thursday at 3PM, Chesapeake III. Senators do not have to attend. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: *Renee Noell, representative from Circle K: 11/27, 10-3PM, Stairclimb for Cystic Fibrosis.
