The meeting was called to order at 4PM. Senator May made a motion, seconded by
Senator Baroudy to amend the Agenda to include Senate Bill 1991-92 #7. Senator
Knarr made a motion, seconded by Senator May to include Christian Atheletes under
the heading 'Constitutions Introduced'. Director Kaufman made corrections to
the Minutes which included on Page 1: Towerlight should have read, The Towerlight,
and the proper spelling of Gayle. On Page 3, governatorial should have been spelled
'gubernatorial'. With corrections noted, the Minutes were approved.
PRESIDENT CAMERON
* Sunday, 9/22 University of Maryland System Student Council meeting at University
of Baltimore. President Cameron and Vice-President Gobel will attend.
* Friday,9/27, Board of Regents meeting at University of Baltimore. President
Cameron and Vice-President Gobel will attend. Interested Senators should contact
President Cameron.
* University Senate will meet 10/7 and 10/21. On 10/21, the Secretary of Education
for the State of Maryland will be present. Meeting begins at 4PM Chesapeake Rooms.
All interested students may attend.
* SAT scores are down from 1990; 1002-1990, 983 - 1991. President Cameron feels
that with the University's need to maintain enrollment, being made difficult
because of stressful economic conditions, it is not attracting the same SAT caliber
student.
* 11SGA Address": Wednesday, 8PM, Potomac Lounge.
* University Senate committees in need of students. Senators are urged to volunteer
for these committees. Senators are asked to contact other people who might be
interested in serving on one of these committees. Names and social security numbers
needed by tomorrow morning by President Cameron.
* Saturday 9/21, Inter-campus Programming Board of SAB is holding a conference
at TSU, 11Am-4:30PM. Contact President Cameron if interested.
* President Cameron, Vice-President Gobel, Treasurer Goddard, and Director Kintop
will be meeting at 5PM today with the TSTV advisor and executive officers. There
may be a problem with the money allocated by the Senate: money allocated by the
Senate must be spent for the specific purpose for which it was intended and no
other.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS: Kevin Kintop
* SGA Open House - Thursday, 10/24, 12N-2PM. Tour of SGA suite for officials
and administrators followed by a buffet in Chesapeake 3.
* All Towerlight ads must be submitted to Director Kintop by Thursday 12N in
order to appear in The Towerlight the following week.
* Mini-notes will be delivered to Senate mailboxes by Wednesday 12N. If any
added messages are to be included on the mini-notes to your groups, it must be
in Director Kintop's mail bin by Thursday morning.
* Outdoor movie, "City Slickers", 9/20, 9PM on the lawn outside of Smith Hall.
9/21 - same movie shown at 7PM and 10PM in Van Bokkelen Hall.
* Illegal advertising: this policy will strongly be enforced; Senators are
to encourage their groups to put advertisements in designated areas only.
