SPONSOR: Senate BILL NO.1 DATE 9/23/69 SUMMARY: Motion to amend the Senate Rules of Order by substitution. BILL: 1. The Chairman of the Senate shall appoint with majority consent of Senate a Parliamentarian who will serve as an officer of the Senate. It will be the duty of the Parliamentarian to advise the Chairman and the Senate on procedural matters based on Roberts' Rules of Order (revised) which shall determine Senate prodedure and on matters of Constitutional interpretation the· Senate will have the right to appeal the decision of the chair. A 2/3 vote of the Senate· will be necessary to overrule the decision of the chair. 2. Any Senator arriving more than 20 minutes late loses his vote for that meeting unless reinstated by a 2/J vote of Senate. There will be no other penalties for absence from Senate meetings except that attendance records will be available to all in the SGA office. J. All main motions should be typed on the forms provided so that reproductions can be distributed to all Senators before meetings. Forms will be returned to the SGA office at least one hour before the meeting. 4.Senate meetings will be tape recorded for the benefit
