The grant will be used to help fund the much-needed replacement of the 23-year-old antenna and transmission line at WMPT TV, Channel 22 in Annapolis, which provides public television service to over 6 million residents of Maryland. Congressman Ehrlich played an important role in securing this funding. In a letter to the Director of the Public Telecommunications Facilities Program last March, Congressman Ehrlich called the MPT transmitter “a vital part” of MPT’ s operational commitment, and expressed his “strong support” for the MPT request for funding.
