Ehrlich, Jr. will present a Korean War veteran with a medal from the Republic of South Korea — 44 years after he qualified for the honor. WHEN: Monday, March 17 at 2 PM WHERE: Congressman Ehrlich’s District Office 1407 York Road, Suite 304 WHO: Congressman Ehrlich Mr. Edward Lewis (Parkville resident & veteran) (Commanders of Parkville American Legion and VFW have both been invited) Mr. Lewis contacted the Congressman when he learned that South Korea produced medals during the Korean War to honor Americans who served in the conflict. However, only few hundred of the medals were ever produced. One of the medals was located through an Arizona-based military collectibles dealer, who agreed to sell it at a reduced price so that Congressman Ehrlich could present it to Mr. Lewis. “There is no time limit on thanking veterans for their service,” Congressman Ehrlich stated. “This success story demonstrates the strong bond which exists among our nation’s veterans — even those who served at different times and on different battlefields. I am humbled to play a part in bringing this matter of national and individual honor to closure.”
