Ehrlich, Jr. announced a new home for the Head Start Program of Turner Station, an eastern Baltimore County neighborhood. He celebrated this homecoming by reading to the children and parents in the new community location. Last year, Congressman Ehrlich stepped in to help the Turner Station community, located in his Congressional district, in securing a new location for the Head Start program. Due to a scheduled demolition of this location, the young children were being bused to distant locations in Essex and Back River. Through the efforts of Congressman Ehrlich and leaders in the Turner Station neighborhood and the Head Start offices, this community program has a new neighborhood location, the St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Turner Station. Congressman Ehrlich stated, “I am delighted the children and parents can return to their community. I am glad to be back in Turner Station to celebrate this homecoming.” Head Start is a national program which provides comprehensive developmental services for America’s low-income, pre-school children ages three to five and social services for their families. Specific services for children focus on education, socio-emotional development, physical and mental health, and nutrition. ###
