Ehrlich, Jr. will answer Harford students’ questions about the current budget debate and other issues pending before Congress during an upcoming visit. The visit will take place on Monday, January 22 beginning at 10 AM at Bel Air High School, located at 100 High Street in Bel Air. The Congressman’s visit is in response to letters written by Bel Air High School seniors inviting him to appear before their American Government class. One student reported that the class had completed its own student congress, and asked Mr. Ehrlich to appear personally in order to address his classmates’ unanswered questions about Congress. The American Government class is taught by Mr. Pat Whitehurst, Harford County’s 1995 Teacher of the Year. “I always welcome the chance to interact with the young people of Harford County,” Mr. Ehrlich stated. “The serious issues we are debating in the 104th Congress— a balanced budget, the continued solvency of the Medicare system— directly affect their future. I look forward to meeting the students and answering their questions about the issues which matter to them.”
