Congress of tfie ®mteb States ©on et ot iRcpregntfattas ©BJasbington, ЗЭС 20515-2002 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CONTACT: Richard Cross Essex, MD 31221 February 28, 1 995 202-225-306 1 APG TO GAIN JOBS BECAUSE OF CLOSURES/REALIGNMENTS ELSEWHERE Aberdeen Proving Ground will gain a total of 1 17 civilian and 1 1 military positions as the result of base closures and realignments elsewhere, Congressman Robert Ehrlich (R-2nd., MD) announced today. “The Base Closure and Realignment Report issued today calls for some elements of the chemical/biological research program at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah to be moved to APG,” Congressman Ehrlich stated. “This move will expand APG’s workforce by 108 civilians and 1 1 military personnel. Nine more civilian positions will be coming to APG from Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland. “These jobs are in addition to the approximately 200 positions which will be created once construction of APG’s new Materials Research Facility is completed in 1997.” -30-
