As a former high school and collegiate athlete, I understand the important role sports can play in a young person’s life. I am therefore happy to see so many of the Harford Swim League's 1200 members participating in this week’s competition. Competing helps build character, and teaches the value of fairness, hard work, discipline, and physical fitness. Lessons learned from sports competition will benefit you in all your non-sports related endeavors.
