- Photograph of Principal Lida Lee Tall in costume celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of George Washington at the Maryland State Normal School May Day festivities. To the left is George Ehlers, the Superintendent of Grounds and the former school farmer. Dr.Tall was named the sixth principal of the State Normal School at Towson in 1920. During her tenure, the school grew physically with the addition of Richmond Hall, a new building for the Campus School, and expansion of the dining hall. She also oversaw the addition of a four-year program which would become the bachelor of science degree. Her title was changed to President in 1935. Tall retired from the Normal School in 1938.
