Wednesday,. February 5, 300 p.m. "STUDENT RESISTANCE TO THE NAZI REGIME" Professor Mruck of the History Department will discuss the resistance activities of German students to the Nazi Regime. Thursday, February 13, 300 p.m. "ANCIENT NEAR EASTERN CREATION MYTHS" Professor Karl Larew of the History Department will discuss stories of origins in Sumerian and Akkadian mythology and their relation to the book of Genesis, Emphasis will be placed on the Akkadian myth "Enuma Elish."' Wednesday, February 26, 3:00 p.m. "SUPPRESSED SPEECH AND THE MAKING OF AMERICAN RADICAIS" Professor Ryon will discuss the denial of free speech and political activities before the Civil War and the forging of an American radicalism. Wednesday, March 9, 3:30 p.m, "CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATISM AND THE BILL OF RIGHTS" Professor Sapio will conduct an examination of the unwarranted interpretations of the Bill of Rights by the Court and the inconsistency of the constitutional interpretations of the Radical Right and their attack on the Bill of Rights, Wednesday, April 9, 3:00 p.m. "STUDENTS IN REVOLT — 18Ц8 AND TODAY" Mr. William Day will present a comparison between the students of 18Ц8 and those of today. He will discuss the motives, policies, and achievements of the student revolutionaries. Wednesday, April 16, 3:30 p.m. "FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT AND THE AMERICAN JEWRY" In this lecture, drawn from a larger work in progress, Professor Myron Scholnick will discuss the relations between FDR and the Jewish community through the early New Deal years. Thursday, April 2k, 3:30 p.m. "THE NEW ORLEANS LYNCHINGS OF 1891" Professor Scarpaci will consider the confrontation between the native American and Italian minority groups. Vigilante action resulted from the threat to law and order reflected in Police Chief Hennessey’s murder. The issue of justice under law became clouded by the immediate responses to the crime.
