WOMANSONG CELEBRATION
Womansong will happen on Friday, May 9
at 8 p.m. in the third floor of the
Student Center. Womansong is a celebration
of women and music, sponsored
by the Women's Center.
Three Baltimore area performers will
be featured. Kathy Pierson, Cyd
Slotorhof and Thea Stanley will offer
songs ranging from country to folk to
gospel.
The performances will take place in an
informal coffeehouse atmosphere.
Refreshments will be served and a relaxed
evening of food and music is
available for the campus and surrounding
community, free of charge.
Keep friday, May 9 open for WOMANSONG.
BOARD NEEDS NEW MEMBERS
The Women's Center activities are
governed by the Women's Center Board
which convenes monthly to handle
administrative matters and plan
activities.
At the present time, the Board members
are: Carol Clayton, Ann Cramer, Chris
Gerhardt, Sharon Jones, Carmen Robb,
Linda Solash, and Paula Yue. However,
several members are leaving due to
graduation and for personal reasons.
Staff, faculty and student populations
are represented on the Board. Anyone
who wishes to get involved with the
Women's Center through membership on
the Board should contact one of the
above mentioned Board members or leave
a message at the Women's Center.

LESBIANISM--TOPIC
DISCUSSION
May, 1975
On Wednesday, May 7, at 3 p.m. two
members of the Lesbian Speaker's
Bureau will lead a discussion on the
various aspects of Lesbianism.
The discussion is the last of the
Women's Center's Wednesday discussions
for this semester. If anyone has any
suggestions for topics for the Fall
semester, they should leave them at
the Center.
FLORENCE HOWE AWARD
The Florence Howe award is given
annually for an essay concerned with
(1) feminist literary criticism
generally; (2) feminist criticism of
a woman author; (3) feminist pedagogy;
(4) pedagogy from a feminist
perspective; or (5) feminist literary
critical theory. There is one cash
award and as many honorable mentions
as are deemed suitable. The award is
given to a woman scholar.
Entries must be postmarked July 30,
1975, or before. Manuscripts should
be sent to Ms. Susan Koppelman
Cornillon, Box 1068, Office of Campus
Programming, Washington University,
