A year ago Dean Chappell raised the question to me about when Women's Studies would do its program review self-study now that it was a full major in its own right. Since it was a new program, and since our schedule had been drawn up prior to its approval as a major, we did not have a date for a Women's Studies self-study. I still do not have a date but am thinking it might be scheduled for the year 2000. As our Women's Studies program is still only a few years old, it is possible that UMS will not add it to the schedule until this first cycle is completed. If that is the case, it is possible that UMS will want to schedule the review at the same time as the other Women's Studies program in the System, College Park's. They apparently were reviewed in 1993. They are scheduled for review again in 2000. So while this is not a definite date, it is an educated guess. I hope we will get an updated schedule from UMS sometime in the next year or two but in the meantime, this might help with your program review planning/scheduling.
