Maryland State Normal School TOWSON, MARYLAND LIDA LEE TALL PRINCIPAL Memorandum given September 18, 1924, by Miss L. L. L. Tall, Principal. In a phone conversation with Dr. Flowers in regard to examinations for city students and for county students who want to teach in Baltimore, it was said that the ten-subject examination was done away with in June. It has been reopened this September because of the shortage of teachers in Baltimore City, but it will; be discontinued after the examination published in to-day's Sun is given. All graduates of Normal Schools are eligible to take the city examinations in the three-paper subjects. One will be given in February and another in June. All city seniors finishing their work at the close of nine weeks of practice this fall must wait until the February examination before they are classed as the Substitute "A" List. At the close of their nine weeks of practice, they are eligible to be placed on a Special Substitute list until they take the examination in February.
