June 21, 1973 Dr. Sara Coulter Kenneth A. Shaw Salary Inequities Thank you for your letter of June 7. The question of correcting salary inequities has both moral and legal implications, both of which are most difficult to resolve. I, too, am concerned with a fair and legal resolution to this problem. I have requested legal advice on the legal matter and will continue to grapple with the moral aspect. I appreciate this advice that Committee W has given and will consider it along with the legal opinion, recommendations of the AAUP Committee and other groups before any steps are taken.
