TOWSON STATE COLLEGE MEMORANDUM DATE March 22, 1973 TO: Dr. Sara Coulter, Coordinator of Women's Studies Program FRCM: Subcommittee on Course Evaluation - Howard Kaplon SUBJECT: Recent Course requests Recently the subcommittee has received new course requests from several different departments concrning women's studies courses. Among them appears to be a consjderable amount, of overlappinG content, particularly with regard to literature courses; e.g. women in Art and Literature (General Studies), Topics in Women's Studies (English Dept.) and Women in Foreign Literatures in Translation Modern Languages Dept.). The committee suggests that the Women's Studies Committec contact l) all departments thay mir,ht be considerlng offering courses ir1 women's studios, 2) all departments that currently offer courses in women's studies and 3) the three areas listed in the preceedine; paragraph; with the purpose of coordinating these efforts so that a non-overlapping, well organized program of courses can then be submitted to the Curriculum Committee. This is not to say that the courses submitted to date have not been well thought out; in fact, just the opposite is true.
