MEMORANDUM 2-3-77 TO: Friends of Women's Studies FROM: Elaine Hedges, Coordinator of Women's Studies SUBJECT: National Women's Studies Association The enclosed article describes the convention held last month to establish a National Women's Studies Association. I attended the convention as a representative of our program, and will report on it at the meeting of the Women's Studies Committee on Tuesday, February 15, at 3:00 in the Women's Center. You are cordially welcome to addend. The representation - 600 delegates from 49 states - was impressive, and I am confident that Women's Studies now has a strong professional organization to speak for it. Wince Women's Studies is barely 7 1/2 years old, this is an impressive development. I'll be happy to talk informally with you about the convention and will keep you apprised of the Association;s activities in the future.
