Date: August 24, 1989 To: Provost Caret Towson State University College of Liberal Arts From: Annette Chappe~n, College of Liberal Arts Subject: prospectus for major and minor in Women's Studies Attached is the final version of the prospectus for the undergraduate major and minor in Women's Studies, followed by three letters of support -- from UMCP, UMBC, and Goucher College. Thus the flagship campus and our two neighboring Women's Studies programs are supportive of our granting the degree in WMST rather than as a •concentration within the General Studies major.• It is the originals of the three letters which I have attached. If you think in more prudent, you could send copies rather than the originals to UMSystem. Since we have to go the full route of prospectus-followed-by-proposal, and since the prospectus has now been approved by all the necessary on-campus bodies (program curriculum committee, CLA Council with notification to college and university curriculum committees, and University Senate), I would appreciate your requesting approval through the UMSystem steps, followed by MHEC steps.
