Because of the financial constraints and the fact that your non-local candidates are all very far away, you may interview two candidates who need travel money (from among the four on your final list, working down the list in order); you may also interview one, two, or all three of the local (Maryland and Delaware) candidates. As we discussed, you will do telephone references before scheduling the interviews, and in particular will attempt to pin down the degree date of the ABD candidates.
