STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION Towson State University Towson, Maryland 21204 (301) 321-2711 MINUTES STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATICN March 12, 1985 The Student Government Association Senate meeting was called to order at 4:07. Senator Lennon moved to excuse Senator Oppenheimer-seconded. Senator Oppenheimer was excused. Senator Kushner moved to accept the minutes from the previous session-seconded. The minutes were accepted. Communications President DiPaula reported on the trip to the Aquarium. Senator Mister and Senator Goldsmith have been working on the inauguration ceremony for incoming executives and senators. Students are needed to serve on the Homecoming Committee. All senators and executives have been invited to attend an Ethics Forum on March 26. Dean Hoffman and President DiPaula will be presenting workshops on Ethics Forums on March 16 through March 20 in Chicago. There will be a Visiting Scholar Lecture on March 28. The guest speaker for the lecture will be Dr. Zwilich. The Buckley/McGovern debate will be on April 3, 1985, at 7:30. Ushers are needed for the debate. President DiPaula will be preparing a report for President Smith on the 10 greatest problems on campus. President DiPaula and Senator Kushner submitted a proposal for the "take a professor to lunch" program to Terry Smith, Associate Vice President of Business and Finance. The Alcohol Concerns Corrmittee met on March 11. There was an open forum to address concerns of students, and faculty. The elections ran smoothly. President DiPaula commended everyone involved with the elections. Director and Assistant Director of Communications announced that the SGA showcases are now up. This week's movie is "Razor's Edge." Survival kits are set up and ready for spring. The Clearlight Surf and Sport Shop is presenting a fashion show on Friday, March 22 in the Susquehanna Room from 12-1:30 p.m. Senate President Protenpore Mister received a letter from Dr. Smith in regard to financial support for the Forensic Team. Provost Plante gave the Forensic Team $2,000.00 to start with. Senator Mister received a letter from Dean Chappell regarding two new Honors College courses that will be offered in the fall, 1985. Ushers are needed for the debate on April 3. All senators are invited to the Ethics Forum on March 26. Senator Mister urges everyone to see "Guys and Dolls."
