- Description
- Seeking a "way to free art from its three dimensional substantial nature," Linxu Wang has developed a highly individual style of painting, called "Hyper-Realism." The artist believes that art should go "beyond the physical appearance to reach the very inner core of its essence," aiming to express "what people feel" instead of "what people actually see." "'Hyper-Realism' features the unconstrained creations of ink usage by adding light, color, ink and the new materials such as gold and silver into the discipline of wash and ink paintings." The style builds "an ordered world out of the random splashes" and depicts "the infinite course of universe in a limited picture." (Quoted from the artist's statement, April 2011, Towson University)
