Strader Librarian Dear Mr. Strader: December 5, 1972 In the absence of Elaine Hedges who has been ill, I have been pursuing our problems with the Women's Studies library budget. We feel that the cuts in this budget are particularly damaging since we have just begun building our collection and have no backlog of many years accumulation on which to rely. In addition, \he simultaneous cuts in departmental budgets has made the individual departments less receptive to ordering for us. I consulted ' Dean Shaw about this problem, .and he suggested that I ask you to restore our cuts from your contingency budget.
