Shaw Vice-President for Academic Affairs Towson State College Dear Dean Shaw: May 23, 1972 TOWSON STATE COLLEGE TOWSO N, MARYLAN D 21204 We are writing in regard to the newly-set salary for Ms. Jane Tan. We wrote earlier that $2500 as an adjustment figure in addition to her normal increment seemed reasonable in view of her very low salary, one of the lower faculty salaries on this campus. The adjustment figure announced in her letter from your office is $500. The statement in your P and T Deliberations, dated March 27, 1972, "an inequity must be at least $J;ooo before it can be consideredJ and the statement in your comrmmication dated April 26, 1972, ttno adjustments greater than one increment were given," seem to operate both for and against Ms. Tan. Being the victim of one of the largest inequities, she received one of the lower adjustment figures.
