COPY. June 7 , 1916 Karri son Kur series, % Mr. S. C. Jones, Baltimore, Md. Gentlemen: I herewith return bond sent me to cover the contract for the planting at the State normal School grounds. I return same first, because the date of the contract is not mentioned in the bond which I feel would probably Vitiate the effect of the bond, or might make it difficult to recover; second, I note the clause, "Provided same has had reasonable care." It would then be up to us to prove what reasonable care would be and as to whether we had given them reasonable care; а1зо what a jury would consider reasonable care. In other words, the whole bond would depend upon the interpretation of reasonable care and who was to perform this reasonable care. I think the bond with these two defects is absolutely useless, and I would far rather, if I had to do it, rely upon the reputation of the Harrison Hurseries, than the strength of a defective bond of this character.
