Miss Lida bee Tall, Principal, State Normal School, Towson, Maryland My dear Miss Tall : Perhaps you have learned from State Superintendent Cook that another conference was held a few days ago between State Board representatives and Baltimore City School Board representatives on the subject of merging the Teachers Training School of Baltimore with the State Normal School at Towson. It is the desire of the City School Board to have this question definitely settled one way or the other at the earliest possible date. The outcome of our conference the other day was that data must be obtained upon two points before the joint committees can proceed any further with their study of the problem and their formulation of any recommendation to go to the two Boards* These two points concern money required and the number of students to come from Baltimore City. Accordingly Mr. Cook and I were directed to take up with you two questions. First- How much of a contribution annually would be required from the City of Baltimore for at least the next three years to enable the State Normal School at Towson to take over a considerable body of students and the whole teacher training work now being carried on at Lafayette Square. I should like very much to have a talk with уогг upon this important matter some day next week, and for that purpose will be very glad to run up to the Normal School from my home the first thing in the morning before starting into the heart of the city. Please let me know whether I can see you some day next week upon this important matter, and I wish very much you will give it such thought as you can between now and our getting together so that we can as quickly as possible agree upon a memorandum to be submitted to the joint committees. w/j.
