My dear Miss Tall I am much interested to learn from your letter of October 12 of the contemplated merger of the Baltimore City Training School with the State Normal School at Towson. Pennsylvania still maintains separate city training schools in Philadelphia and in Pittsburgh but nowhere else in the State, the State normal schools training the teachers for the other cities of the State; Shippensburg for Harrisburg, Kutztown for Reading, Edinboro for Erie, East Stroudsburg and Mansfield for Scranton and Wilkes Barre, etc. Just at present the supply of our normal school course of study is exhausted and a new edition is being y>repared for the printer. However, a.s the schools maintain a uniform course of study, I am asking the Edinboro State Normal School to send me for you a copy of their fcatalogue. This will, I think, be of particular interest to you because at Edinboro we maintain a branch school in the city of Erie which is a short trolley ride from Edinboro. Erie, as you know, is a city of approximately 100,000 people. The Edinboro school, therefore, combines the country and city teacher training problem about as well as it is done anywhere in the State.
