- Description
- Students and faculty having lunch at Lida Lee School circa 1918-1919. The Lida Lee Tall School was named after the seventh principal and the first president of the State Teachers College at Towson, the building housed the Campus School until the 1990s when it became classroom space. It was torn down in 2007 to make way for the new College of Liberal Arts building. Dr. Tall was named the sixth principal of the State Normal School at Towson in 1920. During her tenure, the school grew physically with the addition of Richmond Hall, a new building for the Campus School, and expansion of the dining hall. She also oversaw the addition of a four-year program which would become the bachelor of science degree. Her title was changed to President in 1935. Tall retired from the Normal School in 1938.
