Constitution of the Student Advisory Committee of Towson University in Northeastern Maryland

CONSTITUTION OF THE STUDENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF TOWSON UNIVERSITY IN NORTHEASTERN MARYLAND ARTICLE I: NAME We, the students of Towson University enrolled at its Northeastern Maryland facility, desiring to preserve within the University an atmosphere of free discussion, inquiry, and self-expression, to insure the personal freedom and general welfare of the student body, to promote principles of all aspects of diversity, and to continue in our tradition of responsible self-governance, do hereby establish this constitution of the Student Advisory Committee (SAC) of Towson University in Northeastern Maryland (TUNE). ARTICLE II: PURPOSE The purpose of this organization shall be to promote TUNE as a collegiate experience and advocate for the needs and interests of all. TUNE students by doing the following: I. providing guidance, feedback, and suggestions for current and future programs as well as activities and policies, II. serving as the advocacy body for undergraduate students at TUNE, Ill. providing opportunities for leadership and personal growth, IV. developing a sense of community, and V. encouraging the maintenance of high standards for those aspiring to serve alongside their fellow TUNE students. ARTICLE Ill: MEMBERSHIP Membership in the Student Advisory Committee is open to all students who are fee paying undergraduate students enrolled (either part-time or full-time) at Towson University in Northeastern Maryland. All eligible students shall have the right to vote in the Student Advisory Committee Elections, hold office, and participate in general meetings and sponsored events. This right may not be curtailed or removed. ARTICLE IV: MEETINGS I. Frequency of Meetings - The Executive Officers and Advisor shall determine the time and place of the meetings and make said information available to all members. II. Special meetings may be called by the Chairperson or Advisor, allowing a 24-hour period of advance notice. Ill. Voting- Since membership varies by the number of students who attend the meetings, decisions shall be made based on a simple majority of those students in attendance.
