- Campus view from York Road towards Newell Hall on a snow day, thought to be taken circa. 1940's. The first residence and dining halls on campus constructed in 1914 and one of three original buildings on campus, Newell Hall is named after the Maryland State Normal School's first Principal, McFadden Alexander Newell. This hall currently accommodates about 200 students, and is the on-campus residence for Honors College students.
