- Description
- This Bronze sculpture of Buddha was made in the 19th century and is made to mimic the Kashmiri style of the 10th century; these types of Buddhas were made of ungilt metal (such as bronze, copper alloy, or brass) and had distinctive features such as the way his robe is draped over his left shoulder, and the slight protrusion of the chin. The Buddha sits with his hands in dharmachakra (teaching) mudra.
